garden project

Last year I was commissioned to make a special record of a garden. This record was for the occupants of the garden (and its house) for over 20 years to take with them when they move on to pastures new. There is more information about the project here and there are some images of how things developed in an album here. The final set of prints were chosen over Christmas and are now with the framer. I’m looking forward to seeing how they look as a finished series. Meanwhile, I will be bringing the experiments and developments together in a special book to go with the framed prints.

  1. What a wonderful way to remember a previous garden, I might have to copy you and start doing something similar with my current garden, not that I am intending to move but you never know. I love what you have done here.

    • Thanks Debbie. I think it would be a lovely way to record things on an on-going basis. My own garden is very small but there are possibilities with any space.

  2. I think what I like the most about your work is the combination of photos of living flowers, the prints, and the photos of prints on the table, and the photos of process – somehow all together seem to represent a living garden so well. It must have been a delightful project to work on.

    • Hi Olga, I agree that the combination is interesting. The final pieces that were chosen are just a snap-shot of that whole but I am bringing it all together in a book for them as a background record too.

  3. Inspiring, started using my garden for a source of natural dyes following one of the most colourful autumns I have known…this takes it a step further!
